It is hosted by NewGenAngels, an angel investment network focused on Africa that was created to foster collaboration among angel groups, as well as the larger investment community. We also have a wealth of industry leaders and influencers giving us their insights into the rapidly growing African business ecosystem. From tech to fashion our panel of speakers, industry experts and influencers will be giving talks on various topics from running a start up to launching a fashion brand to investing in Ghana. Each talk will be followed by a QA session.

  • Yaron Cohen

    Co-founder of Viktoria Ventures

    Yaron utilizes extensive experience and relationships/networks in the financial services sector to facilitate investment and business development for entrepreneurs. He has a Master’s degree from the University of London, is a holder of the Investment Management Certificate Issued by the CFA Society of the UK, and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London.

  • Claude Grunitzky

    Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, TrueAfrica UK

    Claude is a serial entrepreneur. He founded TRACE and is also the co-founder of media tech platform TRUE Africa and TRUE, a content marketing company. TRACE, which now reaches over 80 million people globally, was successfully sold to a French investor group in 2010.

  • Ashley Lewis

    Founder, Ongeza Fund, USA/France

    Ashley Lewis is the Founder of Ongeza Fund, a fintech venture which aims to provide liquidity solutions for social ventures and their investors. She has dedicated the past five years to investing in and scaling social ventures across Sub-Saharan Africa primarily in agriculture, energy, healthcare and IT.

  • Kenechi Okeleke

    Senior Analyst at GSMA Intelligence

    Kenechi is responsible for producing reports on emerging markets. Prior to joining GSMA in 2014, Kenechi spent five years at BMI Research, where he led the Middle East and Africa TMT research team. He brings in many years of experience as a mobile industry analyst in developing markets.

  • Maxime Bayen

    Senior Insights Manager at GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator

    Maxime worked for over 6 years as a management consultant in the telecom & tech space within emerging markets. Successively analyst, consultant and Intelligence Unit Manager, Maxime has been working very closely with mobile operators in the MEA region for the past couple of years. Maxime holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

  • Bobby Console-Verma

    CEO of Tower Gate Group

    Bobby is a CEO with over 25 years’ experience at top tier investment banks and brokerage firms including Credit Suisse First Boston, Nomura, Credit Trade and Private Equity funds. He has significant experience in Private Equity, Real Estate and Hedge Funds with specialisation in European SME, fund of funds, fintech, VC tech, credit derivative markets and financial engineering. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Tower Gate Capital, an investment group headquartered in London.

  • Ponmile Osibo

    AVCA

    Ponmile Osibo is a Research Analyst at AVCA, where he coordinates African private equity data collection, analysis, and manages AVCA’s research and market intelligence products. His role also involves developing and facilitating training programs for fund managers and African institutional investors.

  • Paul Vincent Cable

    Co-founder and CEO, EnSo Impact

    Serial entrepreneur Paul has operated in education for over 20 years. He has served as Chairman of UNESCO Schools UK, and co-producer of the Humanitarian WAFA Awards. He is son of Sir Vince Cable and father of multi award-winning social entrepreneur Ayrton Cable.

  • Akosua Annobil

    Founder of AB2020 and Moderator

    AB2020 is an aspirational platform for savvy UK entrepreneurs, investors and businesses seeking insights into the economic development of Sub-Saharan Africa. Akosua will be moderating the forum.

  • Tony Burkson

    CEO of the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce

    Tony is a highly-experienced brand manager and communications strategist with an in-depth knowledge of and contacts in the EMEA public and private sector. He previously led the Corporate Affairs function at the proprietary investment firm LATC Group.

Dress Code: The dress code must be adhered to by everyone entering the hotel including guests/delegates. Men must wear a conventional jacket and collared shirt and ladies must be smartly dressed.
